Create Your Own Background Paper
We are experiencing one of my favorite times of each month–when I get to introduce the featured stamp set of the month. This month, it’s from the new Stampin’ Up! September-December 2023 Catalog. And no, it is not fall or Christmas themed! Surprised?
There is an amazing floral bundle called Translucent Florals. This is the bundle we demonstrators got to play with early this summer during our Creativity Now event.
This week’s card is CASE(d) directly from that event. I would love to give credit to the original designer, but I forgot to write it down or print out the information before I no longer had access. So, if you know who originally designed a very similar card for the Creativity Now 2023 event, please let me know.
On September 6, Stampin’ UP! did a special release of five new Designer Series Papers to the Online Exclusives store. One of those designs coordinates exactly with the Translucent Floral Bundle. It is one the way to my house as we speak, but it has not arrived yet. This card shows you that you can create your own background paper that will coordinate perfectly with your project.

Don’t have the right pattern or color of patterned paper you want to use for your project? Make your own. I want to help turn your crafting stress into success.
Making a project and can’t find the exact right patterned paper to use. Never fear! Use what you have and create your own. This background for this card uses tone on tone stamped images from the same stamp set I featured on the front.
Randomly stamp your flower in various places across the front of your card. Then, do the same with the next flower image. Finally, choose a smaller image to fill in any large gaps on your card front.
You can do this with any stamp set, using any color. Don’t have the right patterned paper for your project. Create your own and get exactly what you want and need.
