Oh hi, I’m Angel!

and It’s my honor to help you express your creativity!

Was art your favorite part of school (besides recess)?  Did you always find yourself saving every piece of colored paper you could find because you knew it would help you create something beautiful?  Did you stay up late into the night working on scrapbooks or memory displays so you could also remember those special moments in your life? Did you love to create cards and special gifts to give others to spread joy, kindness, and thanks?

Then, did something happen and life took a major turn and suddenly you weren’t able to do those things the same way anymore?  Did frustration enter your crafting because your body won’t listen to you and do the things you are telling it to?  Or maybe you’ve always dreamed of creating something, but don’t think you can because your body or mind keeps trying to stop you?

If that’s the case, it’s time to pivot and find a new normal.  It’s time to find ways to adapt the “normal” way of doing things and find the way that works for YOU.

That is my story.  I have been a paper crafter my entire life.  I became an avid (almost daily) scrapbooker since my first child was born over 20 years ago. When I had a car accident 18 years ago, I thought the nerve damage to my right side meant my paper crafting days were over.

Papercrafting was such a huge part of my life and provided a way to destress and relax, I did not want to give it up.  I even made it a part of my Occupational Therapy so I could try to figure out how to keep papercrafting a part of my life.

It took me lots of years, trying different products and tools, and if I’m honest, lots of tears and continued frustration.  But. I did it.   I’m thrilled to be card making and papercrafting on a regular basis.

And, once I had done it once, it was much easier to pivot when life continued to throw me curveballs.  One of which we all experienced with the pandemic.  How has that changed your crafting life?  Have you been able to pivot and adjust or are you still looking for help?

I want to help make this a shorter and easier process for you.  You don’t want to spend your precious free time frustrated and crying.  I don’t want that for you either.  I would love to help you figure out how to make this part of your life on a regular basis as well.

I was a Marriage and Family Therapist by trade before my accident and have continued to use that training in my own life and with my own family. I am thrilled to be continuing to learn how therapeutic crafting can be and the joy it brings to both you and those around you. Please follow my blog to stay up to date as I continue to learn and grow and share what I am learning with you.

I know crafting is not the solution to the problems in your life.  Please consult a medical doctor and/or licensed therapist for any physical or emotional challenges.  They are the experts and will recommend treatment specific to your needs.

If you would like to learn new ways to craft, to make creating work for YOU and your new normal, I’d love to help
