Bring on the Gold

When I saw the theme for the SUO Challenge was heat embossing, I was so excited. This is my absolute favorite technique. It happens to be a technique I leaarned at my first ever Stampin’ Up! class and no matter how many techniques I learn throughout the years, nothing has ever topped heat embossing in my arsenal of papercrafting techniques. I love how it adds the right element of sparkle and elegance to whatever you are creating.

For this card, I decided to use touches of gold. My heat embossing was done in gold. I chose the new Amazing Silhouette stamp set to heat emboss the tree silhouette in gold on soft succulent cardstock and the sentiment on Evening Evergreen cardstock. There are also gold foil touches in the Designer Series Paper. I also added gold brushed metallic dots for the flower centers and while the butterflies are brass instead of gold, they add even more sparkle.

I made this card for the SUO Challenge #295: Heat Embossing. Heat Embossing is my favorite technique and I was thrilled to get to showcase it on this card. I am blown away by the other designer’s cards and they way they showcased heat embossing. Make sure you check them out. And, make sure you try some heat embossing yourself and enter your card in the SUOC295. The challenge is open until February 27.
