Back to My First Love
Scrapbooking was my first papercrafting love. I created a few pages of my first few years of marriage, but really got excited and made papercrafting a HUGE part of my life when I was expecting my daughter. I loved the thought of chronicling her life and our lives as a family. As I scrapbooked more and more, I found myself discovering a creative outlet that I loved.
Fast forward 3 years or so, I was in a car accident that left me unable to papercraft. I loved it so much, I even took scrapbooking supplies to occupational therapy so my therapist could help me discover adaptations and make scrapbooking part of my life again. We found adaptations that had limited success, but nothing that made scrapbooking such a vital part of my life again.
Fast forward 12 years, I attended a Stampin’ Up! class with my mom and discovered I was able to papercraft on my own with limited or no assistance from others. I was stunned and thrilled to make papercrafting part of my life again–this time mainly through card creation.
Fast forward 3 more years. That daughter I first started scrapbooking for is about to graduate from high school. Suddenly, I find myself inspired to scrapbook memories again.

Well, March 4, 2020 is International Scrapbook Industry Day. So, in honor of that I created the first double page 12″ x 12″ scrapbook layout that I have created in a very long time. Could it be I’m returning to my first papercrafting love?
I started creating the 12×12 page that features a 5″x7″ photo. I decided to create this layout using the products from the Parisian Blossoms Suite. This layout features a mat ready for the 5×7 photo. It is decorated with Designer Series Paper, Parisian Dies, Metallic Edged Ribbon and flowers cut from Designer Series Paper.
Then I began working on the other layout page. I used the same colors and elements from the same suite, but this page has mats created for 5 photos: three 4×6 and two 3×3.
And, here is the double layout ready for pictures to be added.
