Alien Adventure

Tomorrow is World UFO day. Did you know that? Me neither. I didn’t even learn that until after I had already had fun making a bunch of alien adventure cards.

I was planning to create ONE card, but once I got started playing with the UFO stamp from the Flying By stamp set and the Full of Life Designer Series Paper, I just couldn’t stop.

I created four different designs and then made a fifth card by re-creating one of the designs during a party later that evening.

Picture of five similar yet slightly different cards using an alien in a spaceship stamp, Full of Life patterned paper in bright colors and an "adventure" word die.

Card Details

All of the cards have similar details, just slightly modified designs. Does creating a bunch of cards at once stress you out? I want to help turn you stress into success. One of the easier ways to create a stack of cards and yet have them different is to use the same pack of Designer Series Paper and stamp set with slightly modified designs.

I stamped the alien spaceship using two different techniques. One just stamped it in black. The other used the markering technique to color the outline of the spaceship black, the lights Berry Burst, and a Granny Apple Green alien. Sometimes the black from the spaceship outline gave the alien the look of a toupee. Can you find which one?

All stamped aliens were cut out using a circle die from the Spotlight on Nature die set. All cards used a different patterned paper from the Full of Life Designer Series Paper set. And all of them used the adventure word die from the retired Stampin’ Up!® Silhouette Die set.

Green card with patterned paper with blue and green rays. Adventure word die is across top of card. White circle with stamped alien in a spaceship is in the center. Vellum paper looks like the ray beams coming down to Earth. The beam lifts up to reveal white paper stamped "hello" underneath.

A couple of the designs have a fun surprise element to them. The rays beaming down to pick you up are cut with the rotating perforating blade from the Take Your Pick Crafters Tips. Just open it up to see the fun message beneath.

One card I just had to draw a stick person in the path of the ray beam. 🙂 What would you put there?
