Floral Inspiration

This card was inspired by the Just Add Ink challenge of the week. Without that inspiration picture, I’m not sure I ever would have considered using a Bermuda Bay card layer. But, it works and I absolutely love the feeling it creates.

Have you ever tried to create your own card background paper by arranging and gluing down dies? Do you get frustrated trying to keep them in the perfect arrangement while getting them all adhered to the cardstock? How many times do you bump them or accidentally brush them and everything moves and you have to start over again? Do you get so frustrated with the process you just don’t want to bother trying to create your own background paper with dies?

The technique using Press and Seal saves my sanity and makes me willing to create my own inspired backgrounds. I spend time arranging and rearranging until the poppy and leaf dies are arranged the way I want them. Then just put a piece of press and seal over the card front and press down firmly until the dies are all stuck on the press and seal paper. Then, gently pull of the cardstock layer while all the die pieces stay on the press and seal. Add glue to the back of all die pieces and place it back on the cardstock layer pressing down all the die pieces so the adhere to the cardstock exactly where you want them. When the dies are all firmly adhered to the cardstock, gently removed the press and seal and discard it. And, Voila, your dies are exactly where you wanted them to be.

  1. Such a lovely colour combination you’ve chosen here, Angel. I picked up some Press & Seal on my last trip to the US – we don’t have it here in Australia. It’s perfect for these fiddly jobs of perfect placement. Thanks for sharing with us at Just Add Ink. x
