My inspiration for this card came from several of the about list.

I set out to make a card featuring circles. Planets came to mind and the gorgeous representation of the planets in our solar system on the Stargazing Designer Series Paper. This color palate reminded me of the night sky and brings a feeling of peace, inspiration, and wonder.

Card Details

Did you know you can use one pack of Designer Series Paper and choose several different patterns to create a fun layered card? I want to help you turn your crafting stress into success.

There are two different patterns used to create background layers for this card. Then, the planets were from a third pattern in the Stargazing DSP pack. Each planet was either fussy cut, punched out using a circle punch, or die cut from the patterned paper.

All patterns on the front of the card were from the same cool colors palate. The Stargazing DSP pack contains patterns with brighter and warmer colors. So, you could choose whatever colors would work best for your personal taste.

I personally like the cool colors, and that’s what inspires me most, so that’s what I chose to use. I did cut one planet from the warm color sheet to represent Mars–the red planet. It’s on the inside of the card. 🙂

How Many Planets?

I know our solar system has more than five planets as featured on the front of this card. This is not meant to be a literal representation of our solar system, so I could have just left it at five and it would have been fine. But, if you know me, I couldn’t do it. So, open the card to find four more planets.

I also know Pluto was demoted and there are now only eight planets in the solar system. But, I had to include him on this card. Who else learned the order of the planets with this saying: My Very Eager Mother Just Served Us Nine Pickles? What is the new saying? Is there one? Or should we make one up? My Very Eager Mother Just Served Us Noodles. That’s my attempt. I want to hear your sentences.
