Playing in the Rain
What does a nice gentle rainfall make you think? For me, I think spring is right around the corner. Although in Kansas, you never can tell. The weather likes to change from minute to minute and keep you guessing. But, when it comes, it’s fun to see kids and animals out playing in the rain.
Playing in the Rain
- Puddle Jumping
- Dancing in the Rain
- Splashing
- Drinking straight from the sky
How do you like to play in the rain?
I like to watch it from my porch. Does that count?

I chose to enter in the As You Like It Challenge this week. We were to use either our favorite stencil or freestyle background. I chose to freestyle my background. To be perfectly honest, my favorite background for my cards is patterned paper. And the paper from Stampin’ Up! is gorgeous enough to stand alone.
But, sometimes, the pattern you want is not the colors you want so you need to create your own. Or, you see a pattern in the catalog that would be perfect, but you don’t have that paper among your collection. Or, you just want to do some creating yourself. When that happens, creating your own paper is a perfect idea. I love to use blending brushes to add ink to paper to create backgrounds. Usually, I add large areas of one color. This time, I put several smaller spots of the same color on various places on the background and then did that with two more colors. I used Balmy Blue, Mint Macaron, and Pool Party. I think the blend added to the look of a stormy sky.
The patterned paper rain drops add the perfect element and that bunny looks so excited to be playing in the rain. I have to admit, I get excited when it’s rain falling out of the sky instead of snow.
