Relaxing on the Beach
My card challenge today was to create a card with a beach theme. I started the day thinking about vacations and where I would go to relax on the beach.
But then, life interrupted my daydreaming. While I was washing dishes and thinking about my day, somehow I wrenched my back. Suddenly the last thing I wanted to do was relax on the beach.
All I wanted to do was curl up in a ball and relax in my bed. That got me to thinking. Do I really want to relax on the beach? When I think about the beach and relaxing what does that mean to me?
Relaxing on the beach has different meanings for different people.
Relaxing on the Beach
- Playing in the waves
- Swimming with the sea creatures
- Laying on the sand soaking in the sun
- Sitting on the sand or boardwalk letting the breeze rustle your hair
- Enjoying the view and sounds from your hotel balcony
- Watching the beach through your window
- Enjoying the beach through pictures, videos, or books and magazines.
How I Relax on the Beach
Most of my beach experiences are through photos, videos, or reading about it. Even if I were at an actual beach location, I think I would prefer to relax on the beach from my hotel balcony or glimpses through the window as I cuddle up on my bed with my blankie, book, and puppy.
Card Details
This card shows women choosing to relax the way I generally choose to relax. The woman stamped on the front of the card is sitting looking out at the beach. That looks like a good way to relax.
But, really it’s the inside of the card that represents my true favorite way to relax. Cuddled with with a book, blankie, and puppy seems like the perfect way to spend the day.
Guess what? Even when I wrench my back, I can still cuddle up on my bed with my blankie, book, and puppy.
I guess you can relax on the beach whether or not you’re there in person. An imagination is a beautiful thing. You can relax on the beach wherever you are.
