Same Theme

Is there a specific theme you’d like for your card? Do you love flowers, hearts, geometric shapes, certain animals? Why not combine multiple products that use the same theme to make your project extra special.

For example, this card uses stamps and Designer Series Paper from one Suite (the Bee Mine Suite) combined with stamps and dies from the Fluffiest Friends bundle.

Why limit your creativity to the products that the catalog or store says go together? Break outside of the box and let your mind imagine all kinds of combinations. Look around your stash of supplies and combine items with the same theme on one project.

Card featuring two triangle of patterned paper with bees, hearts, and flowers . Stripe of pink card base can be seen going up the middle of the card diagonally between them. It is stamped with pink flight pattern lines. A blue rectangle sentiment label says, "You make my heart buzz." and has three small red stamped hearts. There is a diecut branch with green leaves and yellow bee hive hanging off sentiment label. Smaller bees are stamped flying around the bee hive.

Card Details

This cards focus was on bees. The Bee Mine Designer Series Paper has plenty of fun smiling bees. And the Bee My Valentine stamp set had the perfect stamps for the sentiment, the flight pattern stamped on the pink stripe in the center of the card, and the decorative hearts on the sentiment label.

But, while we’re focusing on bees, let’s not forget the hive. The Fluffiest Friends dies has the perfect bee hive die and the stamp set has the cute swarm of smaller bees flying around.

Choosing colors for the dies and card base was simple once the patterned paper had been selected. Stampin’ Up!® paper is my favorite because it’s so easy to coordinate exact color of cardstock needed to work with the DSP. For example, I needed cardstock for green leaves and a yellow bee hive die cuts. There was no need to spend countless time searching through my stacks of paper and holding them up next to each other to see if the were a close enough color match. With Stampin’ Up!® products, each specific shade/tone of a color has a specific name. And, every product with that name will match perfectly–paper, ribbons, ink, embellishments, etc.

Each pack of Designer Series Paper will list all the colors used in that package. So, all you have to do is find the matching cardstock, etc. and you know you’ll have a perfectly coordinated project.

So, Lemon Lime Twist (green), Daffodil Delight (yellow), Petal Pink (pink), Pool Party (blue), and Sweet Sorbet (red) it is.
