Silver or Gold?

When you think about metallics, which do you prefer? Silver or gold? For me, it really depends.

Silver tends to be my choice for jewelry, but my wedding rings are gold. And, my tragus earring is rose gold.

When combining colors for cards and other paper crafts, I tend to prefer gold with the warm colors and silver with cool colors.

So, I guess the answer to silver or gold, which do I prefer? is . . .it depends. My favorite Christmas card color combination is silver and blue.

What about you?

Which would you choose? Silver or gold?
Or maybe copper, rose gold, platinum, titanium, or something else?

Two purple cards with patterned paper layers that look like the lights of aurora in purple, pink, and white. Holy family and sentiment in heat embossed in white. Star is heat embossed in silver on one and gold on the other.

My favorite card making technique is still heat embossing. It was the technique that spurred on my decision to delve deep into card making. And, it is still my favorite. There has not been a new technique I’ve learned that has taken over first place. Maybe there never will be?

Did you know that even on dark paper, you can see your stamped image shine when it is heat embossed? I think white embossing power works best to help see a stamped image on a dark background. But, metallic colors also shine on dark backgrounds.
