Something Sweet to Eat

When I think of sweet things to eat, my mind automatically goes to a party. Have you ever been to a birthday party when there isn’t something sweet to eat? Believe it or not, I am not a cake girl. I don’t generally have cakes at my birthday parties. I am a pie girl. I was super excited Pi Day with this weekend and I could get a whole pie for $3.14. 🙂 Since I am not a cake girl I decided I must add something else for us non-cake lovers to eat. I love that this stamp set has an option for us. A display plate piled full of macaroons or sandwich cookies. Looks good enough to dig in.

I added color to the cake, cookies, and balloons with Stampin’ Write Markers and blends. I even used the color lifter to help create the shiny spot on the balloons. I also used the Stitched Shape dies to cut out the circle which houses the cake and cookies. I did fussy cut the balloons, but there are dies available if you would prefer to use your die cutting machine on the balloons.

I also used my favorite technique on this card–heat embossing. The sentiment was heat embossed in silver to add that extra special sparkle to this birthday card.
