Spring Cleaning

Spring cleaning. What does that mean to you? I am focusing on spring cleaning my office/craft room. I was hoping to be able to tell you it has been thoroughly cleaned and organized by now.

But, that is not the case. I have started. But, you know when a space gets worse before it gets better? That’s where I’m at right now. I’m starting to find things I haven’t seen in months/years. But they don’t all have a home yet, so the more I pull out, the bigger piles are developing.

This time of year should mean spring cleaning in my craft room every year. My cleaning should coincide with the release of a new annual catalog. The catalog goes live on May 2, so if I want to be in sinc with the catalog, I still have about six weeks or so.

I’ll let you know when May arrives, if my spring cleaning is finalized or not.

As I thought about a card for a spring cleaning challenge, I wanted to focus on some new springlike products.

Card Details

This card features some of the amazing paper from Stampin’ Up!s latest catalog–January-April 2023. When looking through my scraps, I wanted to feature some of these great papers I haven’t gotten much of a chance to play with.

Light tan inside of card with pink crab at lower left corner.

The By the Bay Designer Series Paper seemed perfect to use during spring. Scraps of the paper look like strips of blue and green watercolor wash. The bird and the crab are fussy cut from the patterned paper.

The sentiment is also diecut from one of my favorite papers available in the January-April 2023 Stampin’ Up! mini catalog–textured shimmer 12″ x 12″ paper. Photos do not do it justice. I wish you could all reach through the computer screen and touch this paper.

  1. Good luck on your craft room spring cleaning, Angel! I’m taking it a step further by moving into a condo with a smaller space for my craft room, so I’m really downsizing everything! But I like the simplicity of your design and the papers and images that you’ve chosen! Thanks for spring cleaning with us at As You See It Challenges!

  2. It is great paper and I wish I’d bought some after seeing it at a friend’s house. Nice way to use up those narrow scraps of DSP and a die cut sentiment. Thanks for joining in with us at As You See It Challenge.

  3. Angel your strips are a great way to use up your scraps of DSP and the watery colours compliment that beautiful wading bird perfectly. Good luck with the rest of the office clear out – mine is long overdue, and I fear will take more than 6 weeks to complete!! Thanks for playing along with our Spring Clean Your Stash challenge over at As You See It this week!

  4. Spring cleaning the craft area/room is never an easy task!! It’s always good to take a little time out from it to create, and what a sweet card you’ve made. I love the shades of blue you’ve used, they create the perfect abstract sea landscape for that bird to be sitting in. Thank you so much for sharing with us at CC&S 🙂
