Sweet Sixteen
There aren’t very many birthdays that I go out of my way to put the birthday number on the card, but sweet sixteen is one of them. Not only did the number 16 get prominence on the front of this card, it also showcases something that is the reason turning sixteen is such a big deal–a key.
I don’t know about you, but my car key looks nothing like this. It doesn’t even have a key shaped end. I know there are even cars today that start with the push of a button, you don’t even have to insert a key.
I also know that driving age regulations have changed a bit since I was 16. In some states, you don’t become a fully licensed driver until 17 now.
Regardless of the reality of the situation, I still think a card featuring a key for a sweet sixteen card is a perfect symbol.
What do you think?

Card Details
Do you want to create something special, but don’t have a realistic looking stamp or die for that image? I want to help turn your crafting stress into success. Use a symbolic image. Something that will make others think about what you have in mind even if it doesn’t look exactly like the real thing.
This key and tag do not look like the car keys and keyrings laying around my house. But, hopefully, it is a good enough symbolic representation, that people will immediately know what it stands for.

Cute idea to use the banner die as the flag element! And highlighting a 16th birthday is never wrong even if turning 16 isn’t quite the same as it was for some of us *cough* older folks lol! Thanks for sharing at CAS Colours & Sketches!
Thanks Amanda. Sweet sixteen still feels like a big deal.
