Talking Bee

Are you ready for winter to be over? And spring and summer to arrive? It is in the 60s here today and whether this is just a teaser or if spring is really here, I decided to focus on a more springlike card today. And who better to usher is spring than a talking bee.

Signs of Spring

  • The snow is melting
  • The sun is shining
  • The temperature is WAYYYY above freezing–63° currently
  • No need to bundle up
  • Getting the gardening itch–even though I don’t garden
  • Wanting to cut my hair again
  • Being drawn to softer more subtle colors
  • Wanting to open both the curtains and the windows themselves.

What about you? What is the weather doing where you are? Are you getting at least a tease of spring?

White card with pink and purple embossed plaid background layer. There is a stamped and punch bee, with a die cut purple heart and punched white word bubble with "love you" on it. Decorated with purple sequins.

Card Details

Did you know the Bee Builder Punch punches out a shape that looks like a word bubble? The punch punches out the bee’s body, wings, and antenna. But, those shapes also create a word bubble and two different sizes of hearts. That makes the Bee Builder Punch very versatile and can be used for lots of different projects and with or without the Bee My Valentine or Meant to Bee stamp sets.

The plaid background was created using a striped piece of DSP along with the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder. Those embossed lines definitely trick to eye into seeing plaid and not realizing the paper only has printed vertical lines.

Want the Bee Builder Punch to go with one of your Bee stamp sets? Or just want to be able to quickly create word bubbles? It is now a Sale-A-Bration choice. You can choose the Bee Builder Punch as a Level 1 Sale-A-Bration item when you spend $60 or more in Stampin’ Up! products.

If you look closely at the card, you’ll see another of my favorite Sale-A-Bration items–the purple sequins. Love purple and love sparkle? These sequins are for you.
