Valentine Roses for the Swan Princess
I’m not sure why my brain took me to the swan princess when thinking of creating a Valentine. Maybe it’s because Valentine’s Day is an expression of love and the princess was turned into a swan and only true love can break the spell. Maybe it’s because the swan is elegant and graceful which represents everything I want my Valentine to be. Maybe it was really about the roses in this stamp set and the swan just came along for the ride.
Whatever the reason, I am really pleased with the final product. I love making my own patterned paper using stamps and cardstock. Using the same ink and cardstock colors makes a gorgeous background. Using a blender pen to add the same color to the roses with the swan on the pond added just the right touch of color. I also used the same technique to add Just Jade to the leaves and the final color added to this card was the stamped pond and sentiment with the Misty Moonlight.
The swan itself was heat embossed with silver embossing powder to add just the right about of shimmer and elegance to this Valentine.
