Video: Garden Grove Thank You
Paper crafting is my craft of choice. It has been for most of my life and is the craft that I have worked diligently to keep in my life even after my car accident and the new normal way my body works. I have found some pretty amazing products that make paper crafting easier and allow me to still create some gorgeous products.
For this card, the patterned paper creates an amazing background with only trimming the paper to size and gluing it to the back of the die needed.
Tools for Cutting Paper
A paper trimmer is the only tool you need to cut paper to the correct size. The Stampin’ Up! paper trimmer is a rotary trimmer with a safety shield between your fingers and the blade. I don’t know about you, but guillotine trimmers scare me to death. I’m always afraid I’m going to chop my finger off. 🙂 Rotary trimmers just seem like a safer option to me.
Dies with a die cutting machine also make gorgeous paper images. These Grove Dies make such an intricate grove of trees with delicate leaves that create a beautiful focal point and don’t require detailed cutting with scissors. That is the way I’ve been able to add intricately cut paper images to my projects.
Creating the Garden Grove Thank You Card
My absolute favorite way to use these Grove dies is to cut them out of black cardstock and have a silhouette of the grove and deer backed by patterned paper.
There are lots of different patterns available to use as the background for your garden grove. You could even create your own background if you want. A watercolor wash using your own choice of colors would be a perfect background. You could create a sunset look, or a snowy day, or really any colors you choose.
