Video: Slimline Tulip Field with Windmill
Most of the cards I make are standard size–4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Sometimes I’m in the mood to create a smaller notecard 3″ x 5″ or an even smaller card to hand deliver or put on a card. But, sometimes, I’m in the mood to create something a little bit different. Something that will fit in more of a business sized envelope. A slimline card.
That is what I created today. The good news is you can create whatever card size strikes your fancy. Just cut your cardstock whatever length you choose and then double the width you want and fold it in half. For this card, I chose 8 1/2″ long and cut 6 1/2″ wide so my card dimensions would be 8 1/2″ x 3 1/4″. I’d recommend measuring your envelope and creating your card so it will fit inside.
I never imagined I would love this windmill die quite as much as I do. I maybe should have expected it because I do love a good moving element on my papercrafts. The blades attach with a brad and can spin.
I also love the contrast of the detailed die in a different color from the windmill base. I also love how easy it is to adhere the two dies together by adhering the adhesive sheets to the cardstock before cutting out the die. When you do that, it is like you’ve created a sticker that attaches nicely to the other die.
