24 “Carrot” Gold Ring
Do you like puns? I LOVE PUNS!!! When I was discussing creating a card with the Thanks a Bunch stamp set featuring carrots, my husband suggested making a circle of 24 carrots on gold and calling it a 24 “carrot” gold ring.
I could not pass up the opportunity to have some fun and create a punny card that few would be expecting to come from a carrot stamp set. Plus, it is Valentine’s Day so what better time for a congratulations card about a 24-karat (carrot) gold ring?
What do you think? Is this a ring of 24 gold “carrots” or a 24 “carrot” gold ring?
Maybe you are giving a gold ring to your Valentine? Wouldn’t it be fun to add a punny card to go along with the ring?
Card Details
This card was CASEd from page 5 in the Sale-A-Bration brochure.
CASEing a card means you can choose the sketch, colors, stamp set used, or all of the above to inspire your card. I chose to CASE the stamp set used and I was also inspired by the patterned paper. I used two Sale-A-Bration items for my card:
First, stamp and heat emboss 24 carrots in gold in a ring on the navy circle in the center of this card. Next, stamp the green tops of the carrots on the patterned paper card front layer.
I think without the greenery, these bunches of three carrots resemble crowns or monster claws. What do you see when you look at them?
To see carrots that resemble the kind of carrots in my vegetable drawer, check out the inside of the card. Same stamp, different colors–makes a huge difference.
Play around with your stamps and see how many different ideas you can come up with from one stamp. Then share them. I’d love to see them.
