Saying Good-Bye

This time of year brings many events that are full of mixed feelings. There are lots of things that are both congratulations and saying good-bye.

Both Congratulations and Saying Good-bye

  • Graduation
  • Retirement
  • Promotions
  • Moving
  • Weddings

Can you think of others?

Those are the things that cause mixed feelings. If not for the individual, I’m sure you’ll find mixed feelings in the room. There are moments congratulations and excitement are in order. There are moments tears and heartache are happening because there is a good-bye coming. It’s OK to feel both at the same time. And, it’s OK to express both at the same time.

Peach card with peach strip framed by patterned paper in shades of green. Center panel says "Hip Hip Hooray" and has deer standing in grassy field with flowers.

Inside of peach card with grassy field with flowers and trees stamped along bottom of card. Sentiment says, "Dream no small dreams for they have no power to move the hearts of men. J.W.v. Goethe" and "I'm just so happy for you."

Both are represented in this card. This card is a congratulations card, for an exciting event. It’s time to shout and cheer and express excitement.

It is also a good-bye to the 2021-2023 In Colors. Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen, and Polished Pink will be leaving May 1.

This card is both happy and sad. It is a congratulations card for earning a local scholarship which is an amazing achievement worth celebrating. It is also a little bittersweet as scholarships generally mean a graduation is coming. You are moving on to the next phase of your life.

This is a congratulations card for my son for getting a local scholarship. The good news is this graduation can be all about excitement. There is not a bittersweet good-bye coming quite yet. 🙂
