Hello Spring

Spring may have been around for awhile according to the calendar. But, the weather has been a little spastic and it always hasn’t felt like spring. I think we can finally say, hello spring.

Flowers are springing up. Trees are budding. The weather outside is a nice warm temperature–not too cool, not too hot. Perfect weather for taking a walk and stopping to smell the flowers.

How about where you live. Does it seem more like winter, spring, or summer? Of course if you live in the southern hemisphere it’s probably feeling like fall. 🙂

Does thinking about how to add multiple colors to one die stress you out? I want to turn your crafting stress into success.

Paper piecing different colors back into the die you just cut out is not as scary as you think it is. I cut out parts of the die in the other colors I wanted to use–Daffodil Delight for the sun and Gray Granite for the mountains. Then, I just used the cut out pieces from those colors to fill in the outlined images on the original die.

Want to make it even easier? Apply adhesive sheets to the back of the cardstock before cutting out additional colors. It is much easier to fit the puzzle pieces back together when you don’t have to mess with glue and they’re already sticky and ready to put together.

Here’s another tip. To add the small gray pieces to the mountains, I made sure the small pieces stayed adhered to the adhesive sheet backing when the die outline is removed. Then, I stuck it to the back of the white outline so you could see the small gray pieces in the holes of the mountains.

When you only want to cut out part of the die, you only need to cover the part you want to cut with the top die plate. Whatever is not completely covered will not cut. For this card only the top half of the die was cut on the white cardstock outline. Then, I only covered the parts of the outline I wanted to use to fill in different colors.

Save your cardstock and only cut out the parts you need.
