Layered Christmas Star
Christmas is right around the corner. One week from today to be exact, so everything I do has a touch of Christmas spirit right now. That includes the featured star for this card. It couldn’t just be a single shape, one-dimensional, one-color star image. It had to be spectacular. It had to be a layered Christmas star.
I don’t know about you, but when I think about the Christmas star, I imagine it was something special. Stars themselves are beautiful and spectacular and awe-inspiring. But the Christmas star had to be something extra. It had to be out of the ordinary. It caught the attention of the magi who knew immediately that it signified the birth of the Kind and they set off on a journey to worship this child.
What did it look like? We don’t know. Maybe it was multi-layers. Maybe it was multi-colored. Maybe it was extra big or extra bright. Whatever it was, it was special. It was extraordinary and led the way to the extraordinary child. Our King. Our Savior. The Messiah. Jesus.
That extraordinary Christmas star still leads the way. Maybe not in the night sky, but in our hearts. In the decorations you can see all around us at this time of the year. If you look, you will find the Christmas star. And, when you see it, think about where it is leading us. To the child. Our King, Our Savior, The Messiah. Jesus.
Card Details
The star motif is carried throughout this card–stamped images, embossed background, and diecuts. The first layer on this card is embossed with the Stars at Night Hybrid Embossing Folder. It leaves the image of a sky full of stars. There are also stars stamped in a line on the front of the card and also on the inside.
With so many stars, how do you make one stand out. How do ensure one will be featured? Create a multi-layered star using more than one color and make sure it is front and center. It never hurts to add a touch of metallic shine. I’m generally a silver girl, but this star needed a touch of gold.
What about you? What is your go to metal? Silver? Gold? Copper?
