April Showers

You know the saying, “April showers bring May flowers?” I’m definitely holding on to that right now. There have been a lot of April showers around here recently and I have to keep reminding myself to just hang on. May is coming. Flowers and sunshine are coming.

I was at a crafting event this weekend and one of the participants was quoting Justin Timberlake lyrics. “Roses are red. April is grey. But in a few weeks, it’s going to be May.” In actuality, it’s only a few more days until May. 🙂 Does that means sunshine and flowers? We’ll see.

This saying also works figuratively no matter the time of year. It’s not just about the literal weather outside. It’s also true of rainy seasons in our live figuratively. When no matter what day or time of year it is, it just seems to keep raining. The struggles just keep piling up. The rain comes down and the floods rise up.

This quote from Robert H. Schuller seems appropriate. “Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. The spring will come.

Literally or figuratively the April showers will bring May flowers. The storms will pass. And there will be beauty again. There are blessings all around you. All you have to do is look.

The other square has a child wearing, yellow boots, grey leggings, and a pink raincoat holding a yellow, orange, and red umbrella. There is also a white dog in a yellow rain jacket. The sentiment stamped at the bottom of the page says, "Be Brave."

Is life dreary and you want to capture that while showing it’s not forever? Try adding some brighter colors to the characters on your card as a symbol that brighter days are coming.

The dreary grey day was shown with the grey raindrops on the grey card. The umbrellas and rain gear in brighter colors on brighter background squares shows hope. Brighter days are coming.
