Easter Cross

We are currently in Holy week, the week before Easter. Easter bring many different thoughts to different people, but for me it will always be about the Easter cross.

There are many different events from Jesus’ life during the week up to the first Easter that we continue to recognize and celebrate.

Holy Week

  • Maundy Thursday–The Last Supper–remembering with footwashing, communion and Passover dinner.
  • Good Friday–Jesus’ crucifixion
  • Easter Sunday–Jesus’ resurrection–celebration!

How do you celebrate Easter? Will you be recognizing any of the other days of remembrance during this Holy Week?

Yellow "M" folded card with strips of patterned paper featuring foil outlined foliage and flowers. Some of the flowers were colored in with pink, yellow, and peach markers. The focal point image is a cross made of two strips of woodtone paper embossed with a Birch wood embossing folder. Three punched flowers--pink, yellow, and peach are added to the front of the cross with vintage pearl centers.

I want to help turn your crafting stress into success. What do you do if you want to create an Easter card with a cross, but don’t have a stamp or die the right size? You create it with two strips of paper.

I watched a video from Mae Mae Made It with a few different Easter card options featuring large crosses. This one stood out to me because it will stand up on your table and display a gorgeous, large, empty cross. And, it will fold up to fit in a regular card size envelope for mailing.

I used retired Designer Series Paper. But, you can use any DSP you’d like for the background.

The most important thing about the Easter cross is that it’s empty. The cross is empty and so is the tomb. Death was defeated. Easter celebrates new life–the resurrected Christ and the eternal life with Him we can have because of His sacrifice if we believe and accept Him as our Lord and Savior.

Use strips of woodgrain paper embossed with the Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder to create the cross. Add flowers to the cross to symbolize new life.
