Paper Pumpkin Alternative
Did you know Stampin’ Up!® has a monthly papercrafting subscription box? Did you know you don’t have to use the products to create something exactly like the directions show? If you don’t like them or more likely you just have creative inspiration, you can make a Paper Pumpkin alternative.
What if your Paper Pumpkin arrives and you don’t think you like this month’s projects? Make something different. Use the stamp set in a different way. Don’t want to use the cards for the holiday or reason they do in the examples? Don’t! One of the designs in the Fluttering Garden kit has a Mother’s Day sentiment. Don’t want to use it for Mother’s Day? Don’t. Change it up to fit your own needs.
Or, maybe you love the designs in this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit. Make them exactly as the directions tell you. And then, use the stamps to create even more cards with your kit. Imagine this card without the hummingbird. Everything else is either a stamp from the kit or something added. You can make Paper Pumpkin alternatives using the stamp set, ink spot, and any leftover paper pieces from each month’s kit. The number of cards you can make is endless.
This card is both a Paper Pumpkin alternative AND inspired by the Stampin’ Up!® Only Challenge 399.

Card Details
Do you like your Paper Pumpkin kit so much you want to keep creating with it after you’ve made the designs in the kit? Use the stamp set included to create more beautiful card.
- A floral cluster stamp was chosen from the Paper Pumpkin March 2026: Fluttering Garden stamp set and repeated multiple times to create the flower garden.
- Then, the flowers were colored with Stampin’ blends in coordinating colors to the kit.
- Next, the sentiment was stamped in the upper right corner of the card.
- Finally, Brushed Brass Butterflies embellishments and a hummingbird from the Paper Pumpkin kit were added.
This card was entered in the As You Like It: Simple or Fussy challenge. I would say I tend to like things more simple. I don’t want the focal point to get lost in a ton of extra layers, embellishments, etc. I want the theme and purpose of the card to be instantly recognizable. That being said, I do like to add something that makes the card unique. This card is a slimline and not your typical card shape and size. I’m also really fond of adding a few embellishments of the same type.

This card was created for the Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge 399. This inspiration photo immediately made me think of the Paper Pumpkin March 2026 kit: Fluttering Garden. I used the floral stamp from the Paper Pumpkin kit and colored in the flowers with Stampin’ Blends in colors chosen to match both the Paper Pumpkin kit and the inspiration photo.. Of course, I had to add some butterflies flying among the flowers. I can’t wait to see what you are inspired to make for SUO Challenge 399. This challenge will stay open through Sunday, April 26. Please join us at SUOC399.
