Additional School Supplies for The Adventure

It’s back to school time. That generally brings with it feelings of excitement, anticipation, making new goals and plans to meet those goals. This year, back to school looks a little different. Depending on where you live, you may not be attending a physical school building. School could look more like a computer screen, new headphones, and Zoom meetings.

Ironically school for us had been at an online public school for the past eight years, until my son decided he wanted to attend a public brick and mortar high school, which he started second semester last year and got to leave the house to go to school every day for about 2 1/2 months. Then, the world shut down. Good thing we already had experience with online school, so the learning curve wasn’t insurmountable for us. 🙂

Well, he is back at brick and mortar high school having regular in-person classes with some changes to insure more social distancing and hand washing. This year, the new school supply that must go to school each day is a facemask.

In honor of this school year, I have put a mask on the globe. That seemed appropriate considering we are dealing with a global pandemic that is affecting all of us around the world. Facemasks and other panndemic responses are not only happening here in our country and our schools, but all around the world.

What is also happening is the ability to continue to learn and grow and have adventures regardless of the physical restrictions. It is definnitely possible to have a great school year, make new friends close or far away, and share kindness with all those we meet whether in person or through the amazing technological resources we have to connect around the world.
