Christmas Gift
When you think of Christmas, what comes to mind? What is going to be different about your Christmas this year? I know things look a little different (maybe a lot different), but the importance of Christmas has not changed. Maybe the specific details of how we celebrate will be changing this year. But, just because things look different doesn’t mean the meaning or celebration has changed.
Pease, love,, and joy are still a part of the season. Perhaps staying home more could actually make the season more meaningful. We have more time to focus on creating a winter wonderland and/or place of comfort and joy in our home for ourselves and our families. We have more time to make phone calls, emails, video chat, or even send homemade Christmas cards. There is time to focus on others and how to express our appreciation and thanks.
I’ve learned a life lesson over the past few years that has really helped me this unpreceted year. I’ve had a lot more time spent learning it, but it’s something I’m hoping all of you have been learning this year. If something can’t be done the way it always has before, that doesn’t mean hope is lost and it can’t be done at all. What is means is that things have to be done differently to get the same (or maybe better) results. It’s time to stop and ask what was I trying to accomplish and how do I accomplish that a different way? It’s about pivoting and learning new and maybe unexpected ways to get things done.
This is my Christmas wish for all of you–that you find new ways to meet your goals and maybe even better ways that you’ve never thought of before. I have some practice with this concept of pivoting and finding necessary adjustments and adaptaions. If you’re struggling to find a way to pivot, I’d be happy to help you wrestle through this with you and help you find new and exciting ways to meet your goals and maybe even find unexpected blessing along the way.
