Happy 50th Anniversary Mom & Dad

Here is the card you have all been waiting to see. 🙂

This is the card I created for my parents 50th anniversary. The minute I saw the Christmastime is Here Suite I knew that I would be using it to create their 50th or golden wedding anniversary card.

With their anniversary being Christmas week, my Dad always celebrating by getting my Mom anniversary roses, and the golden touches of the suite for their golden anniversary, I knew this would make the perfect card.

My Dad gets my Mom roses using base 12 to represent the anniversary years. One big rose = 12 years and 1 small rose = 1 year. So, in honor of that tradition, this card has 4 big roses = 48 years and 2 small roses for a total of 50 years.

When I saw the colors for the Inspire.Create challenge this week, I had to smile. Blushing Bride is perfect for a wedding anniversary card and the Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive were great colors for the Christmas roses.

Make sure you head to Inspire.Create Challenge 058 and FMS416 to see the inspiration cards by the design team and other creative entriesl

  1. Awww, what a great photo of your parents! And I love the tradition of roses at Christmas time and getting large and small sizes to equal the number of years married. With all of that tradition represented on your card, this beauty should have tons of sentimental value for your parents and is sure to be cherished. Happy New Year and thanks for playing along at Freshly Made Sketches!

    1. Probably my favorite thing about making handmade cards is the opportunity to personalize them for the recipients and special occasions.
