Abstract Beauty Birthday
Do you ever get frustrated with your lack of energy or time to create? Someone you love is having a birthday and you want to show them how much they mean to you. You’d love to give them something special that shows how much they mean to you and that you have personalized with them in mind.
But, life keeps getting in the way. You barely have enough energy to pull yourself from bed to couch. You can hardly keep your eyes open long enough to see the colors in your paper products, let alone pick out ones that work together and think about a card design.
I have those days, sometimes it feels like more often than not. I have great plans and I do think about friends and family and want to help celebrate them. But, some days I’m lucky if I can fit in 5 minutes of time to create when my mind and body are both functioning at the same time.
The good news is Stampin’ Up! has some great products that can help solve this dilemma.
The birthday card above was created using a card from the Abstract Beauty Cards & Envelopes Set. There are so many cards and envelopes that already have some decoration to them. How much more you add is entirely up to you.
I chose to add some Sun Prints Designer Series Paper triangles on either end of the card, die cut flowers from Hues of Happiness, and then stamped sentiments.
Creating with products that already have some of the work done for you is not cheating. It does not diminish your creativity or the love and thought you put into a project. It is working smarter not harder. It is finding ways to adapt to your needs and level of energy or lack therof. It is finding a way to continue to express yourself creatively. It is finding a way to bring joy to yourself and others.

It’s always nice to have a kit or idea to kick things off. This is lovely! That Sun Prints paper is so dramatic. I love your pretty design! Thanks so much for joining us this week at The Paper Players.
Thanks Cindy. I think the Sun Prints paper is striking and I love that it is already done and gorgeous and I don’t have to create it myself.
I totally agree Angel – there is no shame in letting some great time-saving products do the heavy-lifting for you every once in a while. Those florals were made for cutting! Thanks for joining with my colour challenge over at The Paper Players this week!
Thanks Joanne. I’m thrilled Stampin’ Up! has so many products out there to help make crafting accessible to all.
