Chimpanzee Celebration

My obsession with chimpanzees began way back in elementary school. I don’t remember much about how I felt about chimpanzees before I chose them as the subject of my 6th grade research paper, but I must have at least had a bit of a fascination to make me want to research them.

Well, that paper just fueled my obsession ever since. I am still fascinated by them. The great ape house is the first thing I look for at zoos I visit. I have been reading books by Jane Goodall and dreaming of being like her since I was 12. I even wanted one to keep at home.

So, when I saw the Just Add Ink Challenge this week was a card with your favorite animal, I knew just which animal I would choose. Unfortunately, I did not get this post done in time to enter the Just Add Ink Challenge. I’m terrible about figuring out time zone adjustments–especially across the ocean and especially when Daylight Savings gets figured in.

The Safari Celebration February 2022 Paper Pumpkin could not have been more perfect for me. Not only is there a chimpanzee; he happens to be PURPLE! I used a lot of the elements from that Paper Pumpkin kit to create this card.
