Beautiful Things
Today I was inspired by a song. “You Make Beautiful Things” by Gungor. To hear the song, scroll to the end of this posts and click on the attached YouTube Video.
What inspires you? I find myself often inspired by music and nature, but I rarely take it past sitting inspired and grateful. Very rarely do I follow through with action and my own creative expression. I do often find the song running through my head and I might even catch myself singing softly. But, to take it out of my head onto paper is another level.
How often do you take your thoughts, impressions, inspiration and turn them into action and/or creative ideas?
Now for the next step. Don’t keep this to myself. Send the card to someone who needs to hear the message. Who needs to be reminded of “beauty out of the dust.”
Card Details
This first image that came to mind as I was inspired to make this card, was an image from a retired stamp set. The silhouette of the woman raising her hands in an expression of gratitude and praise was the first image that came to mind.
She needed to be surrounded by beautiful things. The curve of some of the images from Decorative Borders worked perfectly underneath her circle framed image.
The colors on a card could never rival the colors in nature. However, it is simple to add gorgeous colors to these stamped images using blender pens with ink. Either by drawing the color out from the stamped lines to fill in the image, OR adding some color picked up from the ink pad. Make a palette of ink to use by squeezing the ink pad gently while the lid is still closed. When you open your ink pad, there will be a small amount transferred to the lid that you can use as a palette to pick up with your blender brush.
What beautiful things do you see around you? I see flowers, sky,leaves, and butterflies.
