Daisy Garden with 2021-2023 In Color Accents

This card was inspired by Emma Goddard’s card we are CASEing in #GDP286 this week. I loved the idea of using a background stamp in a soft neutral and then adding a pop of color with a colored cardstock square border and accents in matching colors

I chose to feature the 2021-2023 In Colors with the cardstock squares that create the left border of this card along with ribbon and jewels.

I love the sentiments in the Lighthearted Lines stamp set. For this card, I CASEd Emma’s sentiment plan from her original card. I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder on Basic Black cardstock. I think this really bring attention to the sentiment. And, I love how the black cardstock with heat embossed white lettering creates the look of elegance. That, along with the daisy garden and elements of ribbon and jewels makes you think of sophistication and elegance.

Then, when you look closer, you see the humor of the sentiment and it just might make you laugh even harder. That sentiment is totally true–Growing up is a trap. It’s not just fun and games and freedom. There are days I’d love to regress and have someone else worry about all the adulting that happens as you get older and have more responsibility with your own home and family.

This card is a great reminder to appreciate the beauty of nature all around you. Even during the business of adult life, take time to appreciate nature, stop and smell the flowers, add some elements of beauty and color to your life every day.
