Fall Thanksgiving Leaves

It is election day here in the USA. While this card has really nothing to do with the elections, it does mention “gather together” which for today I’m saying means at the polls. I know every state has different voting and COVID-19 specific regulations, but I want to encourage you to get out there and vote. If you haven’t already, today is the last day to get your voice heard. I don’t know what voting is like in your area, but I voted early and was giving my own pen in plastic with a stylus at the end to use on the electronic voting machine. I did not touch the machine and I was wearing a mask so I did my best not to leave any germs for the next voter. I know some polling locations have plexi glass dividers to prevent germ sharing. I know social distancing is happening in lines waiting to vote. So, get out there and vote. If you requested a mail in ballot, but haven’t yet mailed it back, today is you last opportunity. Get it to the post office.

OK, my political commercial is now over. Let’s talk about this card. The first step was a Cinnamon Cider watercolor wash on the card base. I then layered a maple leaf die stamped and cut out in Cajun Craze. A metallic cardstock leaf die was added to the front and other leaves were added on the inside of the card.

This is a Thanksgiving Card that says “Gather Together.” I don’t know how Thanksgiving is going to look this year. I don’t know if extended families will be gathering together. What I do know is that you can gather together with those in your household for a holiday meal/celebration. I do know that no matter how many people you are with or even if you are alone, you can still give thanks. You can still count your blessings. It might look different this year, but Thanksgiving can still be a time to give thanks for all we have. And, we can still gather together, at least virtually.
