First Christmas
What comes to mind when you think of the first Christmas? That first Christmas was the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem.
When I first started thinking of a Christmas card with February’s featured stamp set, on the Farm, I knew immediately it would feature Jesus’ birth. Besides Mary and Joseph, the animals were probably the first creatures on Earth to experience the miracle of Jesus’ birth
There are always sheep in the Christmas story. The angels did announce the news of Jesus’ birth to the shepherds after all. 🙂
None of us know for sure if cows were at the birth of Christ. But, the song, “Away in a Manger” sure says they were.
Away in a Manger
verse 3:
The cattle are lowing
The Baby awakes
But little Lord Jesus
No crying He makes
