Fly, Ladybug Fly

St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner and even if parades are being cancelled all over the world, I still wanted to do a little celebrating here. I had seen Dawn Griffith make a very similar card on one of her videos. For mine, I wanted to turn it into a St. Patrick’s Day card and have the Little Ladybugs help me celebrate.

I think the ladybug on the front of this card is meant to be holding a flower, not necessarily a four-leaf clover, but once I colored it green it was a four-leaf clover. And, now, I can’t see it as anything else.

This is a motion card using the magnet technique. The front of the card is a pocket with a card slipped inside which contains magnets. The ladybug on top of the four-leaf clover has magnets on it as well. So, when the card is tucked in the pocket, the ladybug sits on the four-leaf clover. When the card moves, the ladybug flies with it.

Check out the video tutorial below and see the card in action.

I think we should all take a lesson from the ladybug and spread our wings and fly. Maybe more figuratively than literally, (at least right now). 🙂
