Gazing out the Window

Do you ever have those days when all you can do is sit and gaze out the window and dream about someday? I don’t mean that’s all you want to do, although I have those days too. I mean that’s all you CAN do, if you can even manage to get out of bed at all. Those days when you don’t have the energy to take care of the basics in your house, like fixing meals for yourself and your family or even showering and getting dressed. Do you ever have those days?

I know I do. And I know those days or moments mean the creativity has left your brain and you feel like you will never have another unique thought or even a though that makes sense at all.

It’s been my experience that those creative, unique thoughts that only YOU can have will come back. They will return. In the meantime, take care of yourself. Gaze out the window. Grab your favorite cup of anything to drink. Sleep. Daydream. Grab your favorite warm, cozy blanket. Recharge your batteries. When you feel up to it, call your doctor.

Then, when you can manage more, slowly dive back into creativity. Borrow ideas you’ve seen online and try to re-create them for yourself. But your favorite coloring or drawing tool to paper or coloring pages and just let yourself have a moment of creative expression.

If you’re having a day you cannot do anything but gaze out the window, this card is for you. Know you are loved and thought about. And, give yourself grace. And, if you haven’t already talked to your doctor and have a medical plan in place, pick up the phone.

This card was made using two different types of embossing–dry embossing with the retired Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder and heat embossing with gold embossing powder on the main focal point image. That image was then colored in using Stampin’ Blends.

This card feature two of the techniques that will be taught during the upcoming Embossing class. This is not one of the cards that will be made, but we will be making a card featuring dry embossing and one featuring heat embossing as well as an emboss resist card.

The class time has changed. It will not be this week. My son is having another surgery this week. Class is scheduled in a Facebook group Thursday, June 2 at 7pm. RSVP by June 1 to get an invite to the LIVE event. Videos and pdfs will be sent to all class members whether or not you can attend the class LIVE.

    1. Thanks Anne Marie. That is my favorite Stampin’ Up! embossing folder ever (I think). It reminds me of the comfort of my security blanket when I was little.

  1. Lovely card, Angel! The embossing really makes the colors on your image pop. Thanks for playing with the Paper Players!
