Ice Cream Swirl

What says summer to you? When I see ice cream everywhere and swirls of clear blue water in swimming pools (or lakes or oceans–wherever you live), I know summer has arrived. As I thought about a card to demonstrate for the Sunset to Summer event in the Shop Small Mall Facebook Group, I knew I had to combine what says summer to me. So I created an ice cream swirl cone on a swirling blue background.

Summer afternoons used to mean time at the local swimming pool. That was how I loved to spend my days as a kid and then with my kids as an adult. Now, my kids are adults and going to the pool most afternoons hasn’t been part of my summer.

How do you beat the heat in the summer?

I have to say right now I beat the heat by staying inside in the air conditioning with the fans blowing on me. What about you?

Pink cardstock panel with thinner white thank you card attached to pink panel. Bottom part of pink cardstock is folded up inside of white thank you card and has patterned paper with bright small diagonal slash marks in various bright colors on it. Outside of thinner white card has panel of clue cardstock embossed with swirl pattern. On top of that is a diecut ice cream cone with pink and brown and white ice cream scoop with light brown swirled die cut on top. Pastel adhesive dots are added on top of the ice cream to represent sprinkles. The cone says, "Thanks."

Card Detail

This card was created using colors and symbols of summer. When I think summer, I always think bright colors.

There is a swirl on top of the ice cream cone. Do you like swirled ice cream with more than one flavor? Or do you want one flavor at a time?

The background behind the cone also contains a swirl. It is embossed with the So Swirly 3D Embossing Folder and is representative of blue swirling water.

Which is your favorite type of swirl? Ice cream? Water? Something else?

Inside of white thinner thank you card on pink cardstock panel. "For everything" is stamped in pink and a strawberry is stamped in the bottom right corner.

This is also a fun fold card. The ice cream cone and swirled background paper are on a thinner card that opens up and you can read the message.

For a fun display, once the bottom flap with the bright patterned paper is open, the thinner ice cream cone card can stand upright tent style for display.
