Ocean Wildlife

Probably the biggest reason I prefer a pool to a lake or ocean is that I am supposed to be sharing the water with only humans, not any other kind of creature. The thought of something unknown to me swimming around me kind of freaks me out. But, ocean wildlife fascinates me. I’d just rather enjoy it from a boat or the shore, not sharing the same water.

What about you? Do you like to swim with the fish? Or do you prefer to enjoy them from somewhere drier with some distance between you? I know some enjoy swimming with dolphins, but I still would rather enjoy them from afar.

Ocean Wildlife I’d like to see from afar

  • Dolphin
  • Orca
  • Blue Whale
  • Sea Turtle
  • Jellyfish
  • Baluga Whale
  • Swordfish
  • Seahorse
  • Seal
  • Sea Lion
  • Otter
  • Manatee
  • Octopus
  • Narwhal

What about you? What’s on your list? Are you braver than me and willing to get into the ocean to swim next to some of these? What are the chances I can stay safely on land or in a boat and see them?

Teal card with patterned paper on bottom half of card front that looks like water. Three square placed at top edge of water. They are all white squares with stamped images framed with teal glitter paper. The middle square features an orca. The outside two are stamped with dophins. Sentiment "for you," is stamped directly above orca square.

Card Details

Want to stay a safe distance from ocean wildlife? Let’s just create a card featuring the ocean.

The ocean on this card is created using patterned paper from the Otterly Adorable DSP Pack. Tearing the edge of the paper gives it a more natural look with some wave like movement.

The ocean wildlife are jumping out of the water and we have two dophin and an orca. And while you actually could see them jumping out of the water together in the same area, they are not playing. Orca are the predators chasing the dophin, their prey.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but they are not playing joyfully together if you see them at the same time. And, that is definitely a moment I don’t want to be in the water with them.

  1. I totally agree with you on preferring a pool – although I do love to look like at an aquarium!! I love your use of that stamp set. It’s on my wishlist and I’ll have to use your card for inspiration. Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.

    1. Thanks Kim. I do love an aquarium. That still keeps me from physically touching any of the sea creatures while letting me admire their beauty. 🙂
