Revolving Underwater Door

I found an interesting card idea I wanted to try. It is called the Rotating Door card. Instead of a large revolving door circle that takes up the entire front of the card, I ended up with a smaller circle featuring sea creatures with each turn of the revolving door layered on top of the under water design from the designer series paper.

The first step for this card was choosing the Designer Series Paper to use on this card and then cut out 4 Whisper White circles and one circle from the Designer Series Paper using the largest of the Layering Circles Dies. (which is 3 inches.)

Take one of the white circles fold it in half and then fold the half into three equal triangles. You then have six equal triangles. Then use the folded circles as a template to create the triangles on the other three white circles.

Cut one circle apart into the six triangles you will stamp on. Create “bows” out of two of the white circles by cutting out the two center triangles. Make sure you leave a little cardstock in the center to you don’t cut the two halves completely apart.

Next add adhesive to one of the bows and add the Designer Series Paper on top, cutting it to the bow shape as well. Then, add dimensionals to the white side of the bow and attach the other white bow.

Now, it’s time to stamp on the triangles. Make sure you consider orientation when you are stamping so your images will not be upside down. Glue your stamped triangles onto the final white circle. As you are adhering the triangles, remember that the two images directly across from each other will be showing through the rotating door at the same time. Using a paper piercer, create a hole through the center of the both the “bow” pieces and circle with stamped triangles. Then attach them with a brad.

Now it’s time to finish creating the background for your revolving door and descorate the inside of your card as well.
