Sunshine and Rainbows

What do sunshine and rainbows mean to you? What feelings do they invoke? To me, the rainbow always means hope. It means a sign that even though we’ve been through some dark, stormy nights, there is hope for brighter days ahead. It could be literal with an actual rainbow in the sky and sunshine. It could also be figurative. That is what I was missing as I thought about this card this week.

We are in a pretty dark and stormy time in our country right now. To be honest, the darkness has been a bit overwhelming to me right now. I had a hard time coming up with a card featuring sunshine and rainbows because they’ve been a bit hard for me to see right now.

I’ve been asked how I design my projects. Well, I’m about to let you in on my design secret. It doesn’t generally happen immediately, I put in lots of time thinking about a concept, challenge, theme, upcoming holiday, etc. I don’t generally go into my office, start playing, and end up with a card. Sometimes, it does work that way, but not often.

Generally, I start mulling something over in my mind and when I am asleep, drops into my brain from above and I wake up with a card in mind. That is exactly what happened with this card. I have been thinking of sunshine and rainbows and only thinking about how much they are missing in our world right now. I woke up thinking figuratively about sunshine and rainbows, being reminded that rainbows represent hope and they sunshine is really there behind the clouds even if we can’t see it right now.

It’s the acts of kindness that chase away the darkness and make the world brighter and brighter.

Shine kindness today wherever you go. Drip drops of golden sunshine off your fingers as you go throughout your day.
