Video: #simplestamping gingerbread

I wanted to create a #simplestamping card this week with the featured stamp set of the month. I wanted to create a pile of gingerbread cookies using the masking technique. If you watched my first attempt on Facebook LIVE, you noticed that I learned a few things to do differently.

During my first attempt, I used cardstock as the masks. They were a bit too thick and left a fairly large area of white between the images.

So, I recreated the card front using Post-It note masks which are thinner. I also used the Stamparatus which helped with precise positioning especially when I needed to add more ink and re-stamp the images. It also created less of a need to touch the card front and thereby eliminating some of the chance of leaving inky fingerprints.

While re-stamping the front, I also chose to move the pile of gingerbread images toward the center of the card and position the sentiment on the bottom center of the card front.

The pile of gingerbread could indicate a Christmas card. Or this could be a Valentine, friendship, encouragement, thinking of you, or love you card.
