Yummy Christmas Smells

This card was inspired by the sketch for the Paper Players challenge this week. When I looked at the sketch, I was inspired to create something a little different from the standard 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card. I saw the angled design element on the front of the card as an actual smaller card. So, I created a cardstock layer that is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ with a layer of Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP on top and then put an even smaller card on top of that.

That card is about 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ and the outside design layer is a card from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Memories & More pack. I love how that suite is centered around the yummy treats of Christmas. You could use this as a gift card for some yummy treats and write a recipe on the inside of the small card or any kind of personalized note.

I didn’t use the What’s Cookin’? stamp set during my Facebook LIVE this week, but I couldn’t help adding the sentiment from that stamp set to this card. It was the perfect touch and the sentiment strip makes a great handle for opening the smaller card.
