What Was I Doing OnStage Weekend?

The time had come. My friends, team members, other Stampin’ Up! (R) independent demonstrators were on their ways to the various locations of Stampin’ Up! OnStage November 2019. I have to admit I got a little teary eyed thinking about the fun they would all be having. So, what did I do?

What I felt like doing was sitting around moping and social media stalking all who were there to live vicariously through them while feeling sorry for myself. And, to be honest, I did a lot of social media stalking throughout the event. 🙂

But, I decided to take advantage of the extra time I had and focus on building this new webpage and focusing on prepping for the immediate future. In fact, I completed a Facebook LIVE and four additional cards on Friday afternoon alone. I am now working on the photography, editing, and preparing blog posts so I can share them all with you.

I also began planning for some exciting things that will be happening with Angel Stamps in 2020. Stay tuned. I can’t wait to share them all with you.

I did plan ahead and get tickets to the Michael W Smith concert happening in my city the night of OnStage Local.

I have been a HUGE Michael W Smith fan since high school and I could not have been more excited about this opportunity. It has been a dream of mine to sing with Michael W Smith. Well, after this experience, I can say bucket list item: CHECK

Well, maybe. When the concert began and I was singing along from my seat I already thought that sort of counted, right? Then, when he encouraged audience participation by turning the microphone toward us I was sure that counted, right? Well, then he sat at the keyboard and encouraged the audience to “be the choir” and sing while he was just our accompanist. That totally counts, right?

Whether it counts or not, I am going to count it as a bucket list item complete. I spent the night singing along with an artist who appeared to be having a great time doing what he loves and appreciating the talents of those around him.

Lessons I took away from the concert that apply to Angel Stamps

  • Do what you love and love what you do and let it show
  • Appreciate the talent around you–Love your team and let them and everyone know it
  • Change the world–Leave everywhere you go better than before you got there
  • Purple and green look great together
  • Those around you will catch your attitude
  • Smiles are contagious
  • Sometimes there’s no better explanation than great ideas “fall from above”
  • “Friends are friends forever, if the Lord’s the Lord of them”
