Cards Featuring Snow

I’m a little torn. This should be the time of year making cards featuring snow should mirror the reality of what I’m experiencing. Mirror the reality outside my window. But, this year it hasn’t been.

Instead of a white Christmas we were experiencing light jacket or no jacket weather. I know for some of you, this is your normal experience of Christmas, but not generally for us. I also know some of you have been experiencing more than your usual share of snowfall already, but again I say not us.

How has the weather been where you live?

No snow yet. And so I create a card featuring snow. Not to wish it into existence . . . I prefer my snow on my cards, not on the ground. But, to maybe bring a little of that winter feeling into my life.

I don’t miss the ice, the difficulty getting around, the deep chill that reaches all the way to my bones. But what I am missing is the excuse to stay inside crafting all day. 🙂

Card Detals

This fourth card featuring the December featured stamp set–Winterly Treetops is a fun fold card. The featured image of the birds on the branches is sitting on a hinge created by shapes cut out with the Countryside Corners dies. They tuck under the sentiment circle at the bottom of the card front to keep the card closed.

When the hinge is released from under the sentiment circle, the card opens to show your personal message.

This Designer Series Paper looked like it was filled with small snowflakes falling from the sky. Adding large white heat embossed snowflakes helped solidify the same feeling for you as well.
