Shades of Pink
I am a fan of monochromatic cards. I love using various shades of the same color throughout a card and embellishments with only the addition of basics like black and white or vanilla.
I needed a card for a new baby in our church family. The sketch for this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch was perfect to frame the welcome baby stamp from the Witty-Cisms Cling Stamp Set. This was my first play with that stamp set and I am already inspired to make lots of cards with these great images. The welcome baby stamp is not exactly “witty” but many of the other stamps are. There are a lot of pun stamps in this set and you know how I love a good pun. 🙂
I decided to use various shades of pink for this card and even added pink to the heart epoxy droplet and ribbon. I used pink for this card, but I’m already thinking about making cards with different shades of blues, greens, purples, or yellows. Which would you choose?
I used a sponge roller to create the stripes of color on the front of the card as chose to do the same to the envelope flap as well. That plus the addition of a stamp announcing the birth of a star were the perfect finishing touches.
