Artistic Thanks

Are you ready for spring? I’m definitely ready for spring. The colors used for the Global Design Project this week make me think of spring and spring flowers. The softness of the colors in nature as the trees begin to bud, spring flowers begin to bloom, and new babies are born (both human and other animals). New life is blooming all around us.

The softness of these flowers is amplified by their artistic somewhat abstract images. There are no sharp, bold edges to break up the soft, flowing vibe.

To add to the feeling of softness, I heat embossed the sentiment in white on vellum. I thought about adding a cardstock strip with a black sentiment, but that just seemed too harsh. The white sentiment on vellum seemed to protect the softness of this card.

I personally need a soft, flowing card that creates the feeling of being wrapped up in a warm, cozy blanket or hugging a soft pillow. What about you? Do you need that feeling today?
