Celebrating Sunflowers
The month before a new Stampin’ Up! catalog launches always finds me saying good-bye to some of my favorites. Today, we are celebrating sunflowers. And celebrating you at the same time.
You can find various sunflower stamps and dies as you shop for paper crafting products. There have been several different Stampin’ Up! varieties throughout the years. But, I think these might rank up there as my favorites. I will be sad to see them go although they are not leaving my craft room. They will not be among the retired products at my sales in person or online.
While we’re saying good-bye to the sunflowers, let’s also say good-bye to a couple of colors as well. Good-bye Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent. You will be missed.
The good news is always as we say good-bye to retiring products, we are getting ready to say hello. Hello to new exciting products we get to play with. And, hello to new colors. This year it is not just hello to five new in colors. It is also hello to 11 new core colors.
Get excited. The time for hello is almost here. If you don’t want to wait until May 2 to get your hands on the new products, you can always join my team. You can even add some of the new products to your starter kit. Say hello to the new colors now.
Card Details
Does the thought of putting a diagonal strip of paper across your card stress you out? I want to turn your crafting stress into success.
Lay a strip of patterned paper however wide you choose from corner to corner across the front of your card. It should be longer than you will need. All adhesive to the center of the card front from one corner to the other. Then, lay the paper you’d like diagonal across the card leaving some running off the paper. Finally, flip the card over and trim off the excess with either a paper trimmer or snips. Then, turn the card back over to see your perfect diagonal strip.
Now are you stressing about adding the detailed sunflower die to the top of your cardstock sunflower? Cut it out with your die machine using cardstock with adhesive sheets already on the back. When you’re ready to put the detailed die on the cardstock sunflower, you will see there are some petals that are curved. Line up the curved petals to make sure the dies match exactly before you remove the adhesive backing. Once you have them lined up, remove the adhesive backing and adhere them together without ever having to mess with any glue.
Make sure you head over to #PCC512 to see the inspiration cards by the design team and other creative entries.
This card was made for Stampin’ Up! only challenge #324: Colors. This challenge uses Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent, and Calypso Coral. Two of those colors are retiring at the end of this month so make sure you stock up before they are gone. Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent will be bidding us farewell. I can’t wait to see how you use them in your projects. Please join us at SUOC324. The challenge is open through Sunday, April 23.

Stunning card, Angel. Hang onto this bundle since you live in KS and if I remember right, it’s their state flower. Hoping we can visit soon since I live a few hours away.
