Hope: Not Just for Easter

This card was inspired by the sketch for the FabFriday challenge this week and the Tic Tac Toe Challenge. I chose to make a tic tac toe with the first line across: Easter sentiment, blue, bow. The blue was added with the sentiment, colored flowers, and vellum that makes first layer on card front.

As I was creating the card, I realized that although this is an appropriate Easter sentiment; it is not exclusively an Easter sentiment. Hope is not exclusive to Easter and is something we all could use a little more of right about now and everyday.

Positive feelings like hope, joy, faith, gratitude, peace are not my natural inclination. If I don’t work intentionally to develop and cultivate those feelings, I naturally fall into worry, fear, anxiety, grumbling, anger. I think that is true for everyone.

So, I make it a practice to intentionally cultivate hope, joy, faith, gratitude, and peace in my life. I’ve found that as you focus on even one, the others tend to grow as well. The opposite is also true. When you don’t intentionally focus on cultivating hope, joy, faith, gratitude, peace; worry, fear, anxiety, grumbling, and anger will grow in their place and soon there is no room for the good stuff.

It’s a little bit like gardening, if you take care of what you want to grow, with the help of the Master Gardner, it will. If you don’t spend your time and energy cultivating it, the weeds of negativity will soon overtake your garden and choke out anything positive. Then it is much harder to weed out the negativity and start over.

Let’s all hold on to hope together and send each other encouragement and positivity.
