Preparing for Christmas.

The calendar tells me it’s the first week of November, which to some means it’s still fall and time to focus on Thanksgiving. To others, it means it’s time to start preparing for Christmas. I tend to camp with the celebrate fall as long as possible crowd. But, we’re expecting our first snowfall of the year tonight or tomorrow, so it’s feeling a little like Christmas around here.

Maybe it’s ok to be in both camps. Enjoy fall as long as I can. Definitely focus on gratitude. But also begin preparing for Christmas. Get my planning and preparation done this month, so next month can be all about celebrating. Enjoying family and friends. Slowing down. Honoring Jesus’ birth.

What do you think? Which camp are you in? Enjoy fall as long as possible and no Christmas thoughts until after Thanksgiving? OR Start celebrating Christmas now? OR maybe your in both camps?

Card Details

Diecutting always leaves you with two potential images to use–the positive and the negative. This card features the negative of the die. The patterned paper background layer shows through and creates the illusion of a gorgeously decorated tree.

Stay tuned for a project featuring the positive die cut of the tree.

I did not have a sentiment stamp set with me when I was creating the video of this card. I did add one later and I got a little carried away adding more than just the sentiment label. This card felt like it needed ribbon and pearls as well. 🙂

Never be afraid to add more bling.

This card was inspired by a design I had created in September. Does changing the color and pattern of paper change the mood?
