Sneak Peek–Splendid Day Suite

How is it possible for flowers and plants to look so gorgeous even when they’re outside in the elements? Maybe especially when they’re outside in the elements. What do they know that we don’t?

I was outside yesterday from about 6am-2pm. It was only around 90 degrees Fahrenheit with 75-90% humidity. I was in the shade under a tent and while there was little breeze, I did wear a neck fan to provide some personal air movement. And, I did have a bottle of water to keep me hydrated and refreshed.

But, still at the end of my time outdoors, I felt like a wilted plant. And, I kept feeling like that the rest of the day, even while in my air conditioned home, even after I was well fed and had more to drink.

Creating with the plants in the Splendid Day Suite got me to wondering; Why did I feel like a wilted plant, but the actual plants outdoors with me looked like they’re thriving? What do they know that we don’t?

Maybe we need:

  • Sunshine
  • Fresh Air
  • Water to keep us hydrated
  • Time in nature

All I know for sure is that healthy plants bring me joy whether they’re live outside plants or images I can create with.

And, my sugar level was better at the end of yesterday than it has been in a long time. Maybe I need to spend more days hanging out outside.

Petal pink card with stamped bees and rectangles of patterned paper with foiliage that matches the stamps and dies. Boquet of dies at bottom of card. Sentiment label reads, "Today is a day to remember."

I wanted to create a mostly monochromatic card and I think I accomplished that. Other than the Soft Sea Foam die and ribbon, this card is created with Petal Pink elements. I think one could argue for Calypso Coral being a much darker shade of Petal Pink so it still fits the monochromatic feel.

Last night, Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world got together for a virtual event called Create Now. We got to create some amazing projects with the upcoming Splendid Day Suite. I had so much fun creating, I wanted to keep playing with this Suite. This card contains some of my favorite elements from each of the cards we created.

  • The bees stamped tone on tone from Card 1
  • The bouquet of dies from Card 2
  • The heat embossed sentiment from Card 4
  • The gorgeous Designer Series Paper and Soft Sea Foam ribbon from all 5 projects

Here are pictures of all five projects we created last night.
